Official preparations for the big move start tomorrow. I get to drive my cute little car to St. Louis where she will board a ship, travel down the Mississippi, float across the ocean, and hopefully show up in Vilseck sooner rather than later. I'll miss driving her for the next couple weeks while I'm home, but luckily my parents are super supportive of the move and have lent me the truck to drive. I've decided that my little salsa red suzuki needs a new German sounding name, so any thoughts, ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Oh, the places you'll go! How appropriate that your commencement speech should have been this book. Can't wait to read of the adventures
ReplyDeleteCould I hide in the back of the car and head to Germany with you??
ReplyDeleteI think that your car is a little too small to be a Helga. How about Liesl, Brigitte, or Heidi? For further inspiration, here's a list of german names:

My top pick for names:
ReplyDeleteBertilda
Brigitte
Genovera
Gundula
Hilda
Ilsa
I would also love to see pics of you driving a truck!!!!
Gayle
URSEL: German form of Latin Ursula, meaning "little she-bear."
ReplyDeleteI like Brunhilde - "armored warrior woman" - appropriate for a military connection
ReplyDeleteI vote for Helga!!! I work with someone named Helga, and she is a hard worker, very dependable, organized, comes through in hectic situations, and can bring order out of the worst chaos (usually chaos that I have started!)...
ReplyDeleteAhhh thanks for all the name suggestions! Once I'm back driving my little car I'll test some of those out and see what fits well!
ReplyDeleteI really like Helga too. Good suggestion @unclederth.
